Okay, so you know how everyone talks about Luxor like it’s some kind of open-air museum? Well… it really is. But this one’s not just Luxor—it’s Luxor and Dendera in one full-on day trip. Which means more temples, more history, and way less missing out.
We set off early—yeah, it’s a bit of a mission—but once you’re out there, it’s totally worth it. First stop: Dendera Temple. It’s honestly one of the most beautiful ones I’ve seen. The colours on the ceilings? Still there after thousands of years. Then it’s straight to Karnak Temple—massive, dramatic, and absolutely wild if you’re even slightly into ancient Egypt.
After lunch (proper Egyptian food, not just tourist stuff), we’ll head to Hatshepsut’s Temple, built by a queen who literally ruled Egypt like a king. Then we’ll stop at the Colossi of Memnon—they’re huge, like really massive, and kind of just chilling there in the middle of the desert.
There’s a bit of shopping, yeah, but it’s not full-on tourist traps. Think local bits and proper souvenirs if you’re into that.
It’s a proper full day, packed from start to finish, and the guide actually knows their stuff—not one of those “read from the sign” situations. If you’ve only got time for one cultural day trip, this one ticks all the boxes.
